2005 RELAY FOR LIFE

Despite a very rainy and cold night, Orange/Hillsborough's 2005 Relay For Life was a success! In between showers, we were able to kick off our Relay with an emotional Survivor Lap and fun Team Lap.

Thank you to all of the Survivors who waited out the rain. A HUGE thanks to all of the teams who participated in our first ever Team Lap. Your banners were awesome!!

Congratulations to Lee Hollowell of the Cedar Grove Moovers and Groovers Relay Team for being crowned Miss Relay 2005!! He had some tough competition!! Thanks, "ladies"!!

Unfortunately, because of the rain, we had to postpone our Luminary Ceremony to a later date. Our Planning Committee is working on planning the make up date for this very special ceremony and we will let you know the details as soon as we can.

The First Annual Kid's Walk was a HUGE success with 60 kids registered!! The kids had a BLAST!!

Thank you to all who came out to this year's Relay. Without you, this year's event would have been a "washout"! We look forward to seeing you again next year!!

2005 - $141,849.28

At last, all of the money is in and the grand total is FINAL. The 2005 Orange/Hillsborough Relay For Life raised..... drum roll please ........................ $141,849.28!!!!!!!!!

Considering the drenching we endured the night of the event, we consider this a HUGE success!!!!!!!!! Because of you the Hillsborough Relay has now raised over HALF-A-MILLION dollars for the American Cancer Society!!!!

Our top 3 teams this year were Go Getters ($12,032.13), Eurosport ($11,884.66), and PHE, Inc--Apple Dumpling Gang ($9,370.75). A BIG thank you to ALL of our 2005 teams!!

Our top individual fundraiser was Trish McKoy who raised over $1,000!! Congratulations, Trish!

Thanks to ALL involved in this year's Relay! We look forward to seeing you again next year.
